Overview
If you need to cancel a scheduled payment, you may be able to do so directly through your My Account dashboard. However, payments can only be canceled if they have not yet started processing. Payments sent by check or money order cannot be canceled once they are mailed.
How to Cancel a Scheduled Payment Online
You can cancel certain payments directly from your account:
Log in to your account at Upstart.com.
Navigate to the Payments section of your dashboard.
Review your scheduled payments list.
If a payment is eligible for cancellation, an “X” will appear in the Cancel column on the right side.
Click the “X” and provide a brief reason for canceling the payment.
Confirm by selecting “Cancel Payment.”
💡 Note: The option to cancel will not appear if the payment has already moved to the submitted phase for processing.
Canceling a Payment Through Customer Support
If you are unable to cancel a payment online, you may request a cancellation by contacting customer support at least three (3) business days before the scheduled debit date. Please note:
✔ Cancellation is not guaranteed and depends on the payment status.
✔ If your payment is part of AutoPay, your entire recurring payment schedule may need to be turned off to process the request.
Skipping a Scheduled AutoPay Payment
Some borrowers may be eligible to skip their next AutoPay payment instead of canceling their AutoPay enrollment entirely. This option is available when scheduling a one-time payment within the current payment period and applies to:
✔ Personal Loans, Auto Loans, and Relief Loans
✔ Borrowers enrolled in monthly AutoPay (not twice a month AutoPay)
✔ Payments scheduled at least 3 days away
If eligible, borrowers will see a Skip AutoPay option when scheduling their one-time payment. If this option does not appear, the current AutoPay experience will remain unchanged.
