Overview
At Upstart, we prioritize your privacy. Rest assured, your loan details are not publicly visible on Upstart.com. We adhere to strict guidelines regarding how your loan information is shared with investors.
When you accept a loan through Upstart, it is allocated to one of two investment channels based on a random allocation methodology determined by us. Here's how your loan information may be shared:
How Loan Information Is Shared with Investors
1. Upstart Network Trust Investors
For loans purchased by investors through Upstart Network Trust, we share limited information, including:
- Loan terms
- Repayment history and loan status
- Educational background and current income
- Intended use of loan proceeds
- Credit score within a 10-point range
Importantly, no personally identifiable information (such as your name, Social Security number, or contact details) is shared with these investors.
2. Direct Loan Purchases by Institutional Investors
In cases where an investor purchases 100% of your loan directly from Upstart, we share additional information, including:
- Details from your loan application
- Personally identifiable, financial, and credit information
- Loan terms
As the servicer of your loan, Upstart may also share repayment information with the investor who owns your loan or any subsequent purchaser. This ensures proper loan servicing and compliance with lending agreements.
Protecting Your Privacy
We implement stringent privacy and security measures to protect your information. Data is shared only as necessary for loan servicing and investment purposes, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
